How AA in Indianapolis Adapted and Evolved During the COVID Crisis to Successfully Continue Meeting the Needs of Alcoholics

Ann D. is a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and the current Cooperating with the Professional Community Committee chair with Indianapolis Intergroup. She got sober in 2010 and has been active in service work throughout this time. As CPC Chair she performs outreach and presentations for professionals about AA, and how they can help clients get connected.

Alex N. has been a sober member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 24 years and the office manager at Indianapolis Intergroup since 2018. Intergroup is often the first point of contact for people who reach out to AA for help. When COVID hit, a rapid response was vital for alcoholics to have the continued ability to connect with local AA. Alex helped us quickly adapt and do just that.

LeAnne C. got sober and started attending AA in January of 2021, when COVID was at its height, and is currently the CPC Committee co-chair. Although a few in person meetings were available when she first got sober, virtual meetings had become the new norm for many in early ecovery. She has graciously agreed to share her experience with us today about finding her path to sobriety in this altered landscape.
